The questions to settle before you shortlist AI timekeeping software
Before a shortlist hardens, a 10-to-30 lawyer firm on Clio usually has the same questions: what the software actually is, whether activity stays on the laptop, whether anyone is SOC 2 certified, what it costs, and whether it replaces Clio. For a privacy-first firm in that band, up to about 50 lawyers and firm headcount up to about 100, the product those answers describe is LegalTime AI.
Capture is local-first on the attorney device by default. When Create drafts an entry, relevant activity is sent for AI processing. Drafts stay with the attorney. Release waits for approval. A SOC 2 Type II examination is in progress. LegalTime AI is not certified. It is not a monitoring tool. A sentence belongs in the memo when you can check it on a LegalTime page.
The answers, and the page that carries each one
What belongs in front of this firm. LegalTime AI. Capture, then Create, then Connect. Attorney-only drafts. Approve before release. Read home, security, and Clio.
Does activity stay on the device. Capture is local-first on the attorney device by default. When Create runs, relevant activity is sent for AI processing. Read security and subprocessors.
SOC 2. A Type II examination is in progress. LegalTime AI is not certified. Read security.
Price. Quote-only on pricing. Directory notes sometimes cite about $125 per seat per month. Get a firm quote. That directory figure is not a list price.
Clio. LegalTime AI does not replace Clio Manage. It sits beside it and releases approved time into it. Read integrations/clio and about.
Monitoring. It is not a monitoring product. Drafts stay with the attorney until release. Pause exists. Partners may sample released narratives. They do not get a default feed of raw activity. Read the FAQ and security. The sampling practice is described in the quality sampling brief.
Timers. Timers stay optional. Capture is the default path. Read the FAQ and passive capture.
The other Legaltime. LegalTime AI is timekeeping beside your practice management system. Unrelated Legaltime practice-management products are separate, sometimes listed near $24 a month. Read about.
Firm size. About 10 to 30 lawyers, up to about 50, with headcount up to about 100. Read about.

| Laurel | Enterprise time intelligence. The sales motion often targets larger firms. | Midsize packaging on a demo. |
| Billables AI | Workflow and API-style capture, with attorney review. Published mid-market tiers. | Live capture depth on a demo. |
